Rev. Rudy Sheptock, Jr. was born in Passaic, New Jersey and grew up in the Morristown area and is very proud of his Jersey roots. He was raised Roman Catholic and made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his Savior while in his latter years of high school. Rudy later felt called by God to full time ministry and went on to Philadelphia College of Bible. After working with Youth for Christ, Rudy ministered full time in Dayton and Stow, Ohio and in Omaha, Nebraska, specializing in youth, college and singles ministry. From June of 1997 through June of 2021, Rudy had been the Senior Pastor of The Lighthouse Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Cape May County, New Jersey. The church made its mission to take the true treasure, Jesus Christ, beyond the doors of its building and let it be known to all that there were “No Perfect People Allowed!” Whosoever will may come and be welcomed to the table and experience the transforming love of God! God did miraculous and wondrous works in the midst of Cape May County and Rudy’s prayer is still that the bold moves of God, with God and for God will continue! As he says often, “The Best Is Yet To Come.” Pastor Rudy stepped down on his own from the Lighthouse as he was battling through prostate cancer and reduced energy. He immediately went to become the Lead Pastor at the Shamokin Alliance Church one week after he finished at Lighthouse. Rudy has been in Shamokin since June of 2021 and he is seeing God’s hand rebuild and renew the ministry amidst a Coal Town that has lost its way. Rudy still operates by a Win-Build-Equip Philosophy of Ministry is a strong Team Builder and Delegator. Rudy is husband to Terri (1982) and Dad to Rudy III, Leah, Abbie and Joel. He is also a Pop-Pop to Jude, Gideon, Eden and Felix (Rudy III and his wife Lindsey) Lucia, Adelina and Claire (Leah and her husband Jeff) Benjamin and Levi (Abbie and her husband John). Joel married his Bride Sophia in 2023. Not a stranger to tragedy and very difficult times, the Sheptock’s youngest daughter Abbie, battled back from kidney cancer and their middle 2 sons lived only a short time on earth. Nicholas Paul was born and died on April 5, 1995 and Benjamin Philip was born and died on March 7, 1999. There was even the loss of another child- 6 month into the pregnancy in June of 2005. Rudy grew up in a very unique family. His parents, Rudy Sr. (who graduated to glory in 2000) and Joanne had seven children of their own and went on to adopt 30 more. Rudy credits his parents for modeling real faith and being adventurous in following God. Pastor Rudy is known for his passionate love for Jesus and contagious enthusiasm which becomes evident in his unique speaking style. Through the years, Rudy has been a featured speaker for Youth for Christ, C&MA Youth Camps throughout the country, the C&MA Colleges, countless churches of all denominations and abroad in Australia, Malaysia, Russia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Rudy’s personal favorite: Ecuador. He is also a big baseball fan (with a diehard allegiance to the New York Mets), coaches sports locally, loves music and hosts an Oldies Daily Radio Show Noon-2PM on HaveABlastRadio.com and a Sunday Morning Show from 7-9AM on 1063CoastCountry.com and writes a weekly Column called “Soul Mining” in The Shamokin News Item. He has recently added Substitute Teacher to his resume! He also served as the President and Station Manager of LIFT FM which is a low powered, non-commercial Christian Radio Station. Pastor Rudy’s life verse is Ephesians 3:20 because he has experienced God’s bigness personally and wants to show them Jesus until the day he goes home to Heaven!
